Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get used. It sets cookies and sends your IP address to Google, who process it as our data processor. We do not use it to build profiles or to target ads.

It also uses Ahrefs Web Analytics for the same purpose. That script is loaded from analytics.ahrefs.com, so your browser sends your IP address and user agent to Ahrefs when a page loads. It sets no cookies and is not used to build a profile of you.

Advertising

Pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. How Google uses this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Consent

Where you are reading from decides what happens next. Before any Google tag loads, the page sets Google Consent Mode defaults. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland those defaults refuse analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation: the consent dialog Google serves on your first visit is what lifts them, and until you answer it — and for the whole visit if you decline — the tags run without storage and set no cookies. Outside those countries the defaults start granted, and the tags set cookies on the first page view.

Fonts

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com when a page loads. That request carries your IP address and user agent to Google. The analytics, advertising and delivery services described on this page are the only other third parties your browser contacts.

What we never collect

There are no accounts, no logins and no forms on this site. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your employer, and there is nowhere on the site to give them to us. Nothing you type into the search box leaves your browser — the search index is a static file your browser downloads once and queries locally.

Hosting and delivery

PipeData is a set of static files hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare. Every request for a page passes through Cloudflare's network first, so Cloudflare receives your IP address, your user agent and the address of the page you asked for. It uses them to deliver the page, to cache it and to filter out abusive traffic. Cloudflare also adds a small script of its own to each page, served from static.cloudflareinsights.com and from /cdn-cgi/ on this domain, which measures page load performance and helps tell people from automated traffic. It sets no advertising cookies. Cloudflare's practices are covered by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

GitHub receives the request from Cloudflare as part of delivering the page and keeps its own server logs, which we do not have access to. Their practices are covered by the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Email

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use them to reply and to correct the site, and for nothing else. We do not add you to any list.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland only once you have consented to them. Ahrefs Web Analytics and the site itself set none.

Changes

This page describes the site as it is now. If a third-party service is added, removed or replaced, the page will be updated to say so before or at the same time as the change goes live, and the date below will change with it.
